Beloved, the Spirit of the Lord is asking us today: “Who told you who you are?” From the beginning, God spoke identity before assignment - “God created man in His own image… and indeed it was very good” (Genesis 1:27, 31). Yet identity has been under attack ever since. Voices of comparison, pride, and shame have tried to redefine us, even as Scripture declares that God has “crowned us with glory and honor” (Psalms 8:5). Like those Jesus addressed who trusted in themselves (Luke 18:9), many worship God yet see themselves through distorted lenses.
