Luke 15: 20-21

A. Observation

Arise and go to the father - And the Father, full of compassion for his son, ran to him and hugged and kissed him. It shows a sign of a complete redemption without saying a word.

If one has been in the Father’s house as a son, he, like the prodigal, is still a son and will be continuously constrained by the Holy Spirit and the intercessory work of Christ to “arise and go to the Father.”

Never give up interceding for a sinner to know Christ:

The Prayer of Abraham rescued Lot from perishing in Sodoma, and Gomorrah - Lot rose and went back home.

The mystery of the Lord’s Super - 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 (The Lord’s Supper)

When you take the Lord’s Supper, consider these five looks:

    • Look Up — God has prepared the feast - Since God has invited us to his table, it is appropriate for us to acknowledge he is central. He invites us to his table through Christ.

    • Look In — self-examination - Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. (1 Cor. 11:27–28)

    • (1 Cor. 11:27–28) “Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the LORD. 33 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
